Cedar Potts-Warner

Cedar Potts-Warner has been a dedicated student of the horse for over 20 years. She has a well rounded base of experience with a specialized focus in the art of dressage. She studied under master horseman, JP Giacomini, who was a student of master Nuno Oliveira.

Cedar’s training develops healthy biomechanics, relaxation and mental well-being to start horses from the beginning, and to advance them to upper level movements such as piaffe, passage and flying changes. In conjunction with this, she helps people learn how their own biomechanics can help bring out the best in their equine partners. She teaches in a way that gives both horses and humans the building blocks of understanding so they can be set up for success at each new step. No matter the saddle or discipline, the main focus is correct, progressive training that translates into horses being prepared for the questions they’re presented with.

Cedar has competed in RRP TB Makeovers, has performed bridleless upper level dressage and competes at the highest level in both classical and western dressage. She has made it to USDF Dressage Finals multiple times at the Grand Prix level with three different horses. She has earned her USDF gold medal and gold freestyle bar. She has placed champion and reserve champion in western dressage shows and was champion in western dressage at the 2023 TIP Championships. She trains and teaches locally, virtually and by traveling for clinics.

While Cedar enjoys competitions for the goals and milestones they offer, the main objective is always to develop the horse athletically and mentally for both soundness and expression while creating a healthy partnership.
